mmm Roast!

Marinate the meat for a couple of hours (or days). I marinated my slab of yummy beef with Bulgogi Marinade. You can buy this Korean Marinade at any local Asian Store. After marinating, wrap the meat inside aluminum foil to preserve the juices. Then, place it in a pan (just in case it drips). Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Cook for 4 hours (flipping at the 2-hour mark). It will come out fall-off-the-bone GOOD! Enjoy!

Recycled Paper Card!

I got my inspiration from a sample from Bloomin. It is a company that makes recycled paper that also has wildflower seeds in it, so when the person is done using the piece of paper, he/she can plant it in their garden and it will decompose and sprout wildflowers.

I also watched a video on youtube (click here) to learn how to make recycled paper and then I added flower seeds to the mixture so that the recipient can plant the card after it instead of throwing it into the trash.

April Birchbox!

I subscribed to Birchbox after watching the hours upon hours of make-up youtube tutorials. Several of the people that I watch had videos of their monthly birchbox subscriptions, so I thought I'd sign up too and see how it went! In case you don't know what Birchbox is,it's a $10 monthly subscription service and you get to try out deluxe high-end samples (NARS, Stila, etc!). You get different beauty products every month and I like it because I get to try out different products that I would not normally buy for myself at a beauty store. Also, I like to think of it as a present to myself every month! What girl doesn't like presents, especially if it's beauty supplies?!

Join Birchbox and learn more about it at:
http://www.birchbox.com/

Usually, Birchboxes arrive in pink boxes, but in celebration of Earth Day, they decided to go eco-friendly this month. To start off, the box came in a light mint color! Everything in the box this month were organic, all-natural, and eco-friendly.
Let's get started!

Nice packaging!

To start off, I have two selections from
Juice Beauty:the organic solution.
The one in the Packet is a stem cellular repair moisturizer cream. The one in the tube is a green apple peel in full strength. It smooths and firms your skin with hydroxy acids.

The next selection:
ZOYA nail polish in Jules from the Intimate Collection.
It also came with these nail samples of their other colors in the Intimate Collection, as well as a book of their complete ZOYA collection. I'm really excited about this product because it is the longest wearing natural nail polish. It's free of harsh chemicals and it's formula is vegan friendly.

The next selection:
WELEDA Wild Rose Smoothing Facial Lotion
in Rose Musqee
This product softens fine lines and prevents the first signs of aging for skin. It is also made out of natural products. I tried this product this morning, and the smell caught my attention. It smells like fresh roses! Also, unlike other facial lotions that I've tried, this one is light and doesn't make my skin oily.

The next Selection:
LIV GRN Eau De Parfum - Earth scent
Made of biodegradable and sustainable ingredients and laced with Jasmine and Sandalwood. It smells very clean, fresh, floral, and with a hint of apple? haha idk.. It smells a like it has a little bit of fruitiness to it, but in a good way!

& My Final Selection:
Bloomin' Handmade Seed Paper
AHHH! I'm SOO making a lesson plan inspired by this! Basically, this is hand-made paper that includes seeds. You can plant it in your garden and it will turn into wildflowers! I have a little garden on my balcony, so I'll definitely plant this and see how it goes! This is so cute!

& this was April's Birchbox!
I hope you enjoyed it & make sure to leave a comment! I'd love to see what you got in your Birchbox since each box is handpicked and slightly different!

Vintage Records

Okay... so these aren't real vintage records, but they look vintage with a modern touch none-the-less. My roommate (at the time) took a bunch of Ruckus ads and cut circles out of the multiple magazines laying around our apartment. She pasted the circles on top of where the Ruckus label was located on the ad and... tadaa! We created an awesome living room wall decor!

BF's Camera

la la la laa....
Playing around with my boyfriend's White Pentax Kx. I like his camera & every time I learn something new about this crazy-cool-piece-of-EXPENSIVE-technology, I start to fall in love with it more and more. It's white (as you can obviously see) and I think that it's cool and unique!
& uhmmm...GEEZE! I have MONSTER FEET!
RAWR!

Audrey Hepburn Prints

Completed in the spring of 2009.
The two prints and the original plate reside in my hallway.
My roommate at the time was a huge fan of Audrey Hepburn so I created these prints due to her inspiration! <3 Miss you roomie!

Creative/Stylish Motivation

I used to wake up to this cluster of frames which held pictures of my most idolized stars such as Eva Longoria and Miranda Kerr! Unfortunately, I had to take it down because a few weeks ago, my apartment complex added something new to my room! You'll never guess what it is! :) Pictures will be uploaded soon, so look out for it in my next few blogs!

Sure Thang

2:50 - the end. Sure Thang by Miguel. <3

The whole video is pretty awesome, but I just love that choreo and that song. Oh how I miss dancing...

...& that is the Question...

Doing my homework on the balcony on this fine spring afternoon. Unfortunately, I've been distracted by my own thoughts these past few days. I have been contemplating these topics over and over again in my head & I thought that maybe if I write about it, I could perhaps come to a conclusion by actually seeing my thoughts in writing.

First of all, I have to calculate what I'm good at. I enjoy doing my friend's hair and make-up and making sure their wardrobe is complete with jewelry every time we get dolled up and go out. I enjoy teaching children about art and motivating them to use their creativity and construct a masterpiece out of their thoughts. & I enjoy making my friends laugh and just hanging out with my girlfriends. I also love love love fashion!

So, now that I have that written down, it's time for a little self check-up.
I'm currently going into Art Education (Certified K-12 with a concentration in Ceramics) at Michigan State University (good thing i'm here because our teachers are ranked #1 in the nation). Next year I'm interning at Elementary and High Schools and I'm really excited about that. But....

I want to also try to get certified as an official International Make-Up artist. I have been looking at the London School of Hair and Make-Up and if I take and complete their courses, I'll become an official International Make-Up artist. Pretty cool huh? So I've been thinking that maybe I could get certified to do people's hair and make-up and perhaps get paid for it. Here's a link to the school if you would like to know more about it! It's a little expensive, but it's a goal that I would like to reach one day. Plus, I'll get to go to school in LONDON! Who doesn't want to go there?! http://www.lond-est.com/ I've been watching tons and tons of make-up tutorials on youtube and I am really starting to appreciate make-up more than ever. Plus, I love love LOVEEE learning about interesting new ideas from these skilled ladies online.

Which brings me to my next point.... Should I start a youtube site? I would be creating tutorials and sharing my new ideas with the world! How fun! :) I'm a little bit shy though, so we'll see how this goes.

xoxo

Well, those were my thoughts. Tell me what you think!

Nails & Eyes

I had a little (more like a lot) of time on my hands before I went to bed, so I did my nails. Pastels are in this season, so i used a light pink. I put pearls and jewels on my fingernails as well. They are inspired by Japanese nails :) gosh i miss Japan!

Also, I have been doing that cat eye trend on my eyes ( with thick black eyeliner) ever since I was in high school. Today I decided to go without the cat eyes and try something different for a change. This look is inspired by the numerous make-up youtube videos that I watch. :) Thanks for the inspiration girls! What do you think?

Guess Who?

I created a board game based on the classic "Guess Who?" game for my presentation tomorrow. My classmates will use this game to learn how it is important (as a teacher) to learn your students' names as well as a little bit about them! My presentation will blow everyone else's out of the water! My team rocks!! :) We even have a cute ppt to go along with it!

What ever happened to...

Courting?
Romance?
Getting to REALLY know someone via conversations?
Human interaction?

IDK ... pardon my rantings, but this issue just irritates me. A few nights ago, as my roommate and I were finally chipping a decent dent onto some homework, an event (that took place rather fast-pace) left me in thought as I slipped away to my night-time shower. Her male friend had stopped by to do some studying with her. I had met him nearly an hour before, and as I was tidying up my workspace at the dining table, he looked up from his laptop and posed this question: "Can I add you on Facebook?" I felt like a deer in head lights! I'm pretty good at forecasting events, but I hadn't calculated this scenario to happen anytime soon. I had met him only an HOUR ago for Christ's sake! Mind you, he's my roommate's friend and we BARELY talked to each other. I felt trapped. Should I say "sure" because of my roommate, or should I say no and embarrass him in front of my roommate and her boyfriend? That poor guy... etc. It all went through my mind in a second then my kindness took over and I said "sure," but it irritated me for the rest of the night.

What ever happened to REALLY getting to know someone? These days, if people want to know who a person is and what they're all about, they facebook them instead of sitting down and having a nice ol' chat with someone. Instead of picking up a phone and calling someone, we're all about texting, chatting, etc. I feel as if romance has lost its personal touch due to technology. People used to go out and find the woman of their dreams. Now, we have Match.com. Wow, real romantic. That's a great story to tell the kids... "hey mom how did you guys meet?" "Oh we met on a dating website" ...instead of a worthy story with substance.

Don't get me wrong... I do enjoy facebook because it does solve my problem of keeping in touch with people. I feel as if it accomplished the task of bringing us all closer no matter how far we may be in distance, yet it still bothers me on other aspects. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that.. I miss those days when friends/loved ones would just sit around and catch up. Eye to eye, Face to face, and in arm's width of each other. I fear that in the future, there will be no need for human contact due to the advancements in technology. Only time will tell, but for now, I miss dense conversations with my girlfriends. & I really dislike people adding me on facebook when I barely know them. These past few days, I've been deleting acquaintances on that site that I never talk to. Gosh, FB and I have a love/hate relationship.
