Table for One & Friends

Cooking is one of my favorite pastimes. It's like an edible form of art and I enjoy using my different senses while creating these dishes. For example, I can hear the utensils and pans interacting with one another, touch the different textures, and smell everything evolving into a perfect masterpiece as it comfortably sits in the oven. I live for the grand finale, when i can see that my creation is complete & when i can FINALLY taste all the different flavors entwining with one another as it interacts with my tongue. Perfect, isn't it? And as many of you know already, the kitchen is what brings the family together. Eating together and enjoying the same explosions of flavors at the end of a stressful day definitely doesn't just satisfy those cravings and hungry stomachs, but it also relaxes your body and lets you know that you are HOME..... & home is where the heart is.

Unfortunately, I often forget to take pictures of things that I have made, but here is a collection of the ones that I have taken pictures of. Bon Appetit!

For Breakfast:

Eggs, Rice, & some Filipino Salted Egg! yumm!

For Lunch:

Shrimp Pancit (courtesy of Kristy) and Ampalaya with Rice! Did you know that Ampalaya can make you live longer? It's really good for your body!

Gyoza, rice & salted egg is always a good pick!

Kristy had the inspiration to make this burger from watching the food network. It's the krispy cream burger! I guarantee you'll love it!

For Dinner:

Mabo Tofu Szechwan Style with Rice served with Miso soup & Moscato Wine.
I used to order this dish a lot back in Japan at a restaurant called Bamiyan, so I decided to recreate it at home. Itadakimasu!

Lemon & Cilantro Salmon with Broccoli & Rice

For Dessert:

Chocolate syrup topped with sugared blackberries & raspberries on warm crispy and buttery phyllo dough!

Honey and sugared peaches on warm crispy and buttery phyllo dough!

This was my most recent creation!

Creamy Chocolate & Pumpkin Pie!

Graham cracker crust, a layer of chocolate at the bottom, with creamy pumpkin pie filling. Topped with wipped cream!

I know this is just a slice, but i ended up making 2 pumpkin pies, 6 mini pumpkin pies in cupcake holders, & one in a bread loaf pan haha.
